Five to Eight

They may still only be little, but becoming a big school kid is one of the most important days in their life.

Getting ready for big school!

At big school, they learn to socialise, follow directions and of course start experimenting with all kinds of new things that are essential for their future learning. From cutting out simple shapes, learning to read and write and work both independently and in groups, five to eight year olds are becoming more knowledgeable, more independent and beginning to emotionally mature.

It’s important to stay close to your child as they begin this crucial stage in their lives. Accompanying your child on the walk, bus or car ride to and from big school is a great way to hear about what they’re learning at school, and what’s happening in the play ground. The links below will connect you to more important information about the “big school” age and stage.
